More football ‘cus I got nothin’!

I have been chasing my tail in circles since Thursday so I can’t even think of anything coherent to write about-but here ya go…love this song and the video will have you grabbin’ for the tissues!

Un stinky smell and une question

I have a stinky smell in my house.  Lullibell says it smells something like the dead squirrel on the playground when she was in second grade.  She went on to describe the smell as kind of a sicky sweet smell…Nice, right?  The weird thing about it is that it is only in the closet where I keep the sheets-the hallway linen closet.  So far it only affects the closet, not the laundry itself but I think  it might be pressing that I clean out the closet and take out everything until I can put some bleach and baking soda in there–hopefully something will absorb the smell!

On a different note-I am able to get a new phone next week.  I thought I wanted a droid but I am not sure now.  I mean an iPhone would be cool.  Even a new blackberry.  I just don’t know.  The new blackberry would be the easiest transition because that is what I have now…but the apps for the iPhone and droid are very tempting.

Anybody have any thoughts on the sitch?

One more thing-Bubba has his first football scrimmage today.  The Mites scrimmaged the Mighty Mites a little bit last night but this is his first time against a real opponent…EXCITING!!!  GO BULLDOGS!!!

Friday football pics

Bubba has his football picrures today.  It ought to be fun considering that his jersey really doesn’t fit.

I don’t mean tight…I mean it really is too small.

It took me ten minutes to wrestle his shoulder pads into it last night.  Then his daddy had to come over and help him cram himself into it.

After which he cold move his arms but the amount of chafing he would have gotten under his arms from those elasticized sleeves….yeeeoooouuuch!

So-short post today but  I am trying to stay in the habit of posting so, here ya go…I think I’ll try a video too!  Or not!  How about a pic of the oby getting his too small jersey!

I got a plan

I’m gonna take the kids to Busch Gardens today.  Even though it’s supposed to be hot.  And I am supposed to be super-hydrating Bubba.  Because it is supposed to be super hot today.  And he will probably be practicing in full gear today.  Which will probably get me in trouble.

But, you see, I have this other monster.  This girl monster.  She really likes water.  She loves water.  And not just for drinking or swimming.  She likes to be splashed, sprayed, sprinkled or otherwise inundated.  The look of joy on the child’s face when getting soaked is beyond comparison.

So I will take them to Busch Gardens, where we will stay only long enough to ride three water rides and possibly a roller coaster…just to dry off!

Fall…does it really rhyme with football?

Throw away your style points

Steeler football is 60 minutes.

That’s what Coach Tomlin said after the game last night.

Frankly, I was really glad when that 60 minutes was over!  I couldn’t even watch it.  It wasn’t that I didn’t believe they could pull it off.  Really.

Eight plays. Seventy eight yards…

Roethlisberger jokingly called the last play, “Scramble left, scramble right, and find someone open.”

A big guy like Ben doesn’t really scramble though, does he?  It was more lumbering than scrambling!  With his first two reads covered, Big Ben had to believe in himself and Santonio Holmes, who had dropped a pass earlier, to make this play.

And a beautiful play it was!  Amazing. Nail biting. Toes-tapping-the-edge-of-the-end-zone kind of beautiful!

And as an added win to the day…in the flag football game prior to the Super Bowl…the old guys at church beat the youth by 2 touchdowns…I wonder who is moving with the most difficulty this morning…and does that negate their win?

Strawberry field…road…patch…High School?!?!?!

The Hillsborough County School Board here in Florida is meeting to name a new high school after the large crop of winter strawberries produced in the eastern part of the county, known as the “Winter Strawberry Capitol of the World”.

This is funny on so many levels. The big concern on the radio station I was listening to was choosing a mascot and dressing the athletic teams.

One suggestion was the Pickers. As in Strawberry Pickers…not exactly politically correct, right?

Another was Strawberry Fields but with this there was the mention of legal action.

The funniest was the lady who called in with the same thought I was having. They should name the team the Shortcakes because that would be the meanest darn team to beat…kind of like the old Johnny Cash son, “A Boy Named Sue”!

The uniforms could be pink and the helmets look like big strawberries, right?
