I consider myself pretty tough…you know…I am a southern mountain girl. I mean, come on, look at this:
That, my friends is a genuine mountain stream crawdad. See…No Fear!!!
But there are limits. This morning when the dogs and I got to the house after our walk there was a little visitor waiting in the seal of the door for us. When I opened the door he scuttled into the house and luckily into the bathroom. After several tense minutes shared with the little dog (who I swear was going to eat him if she caught him) I captured the little bugger.
Then there was the dilemma of how to lift him up and out of the house…and of course the dash to get the camera so I could show all of you my bravery in the face of certain death.
I managed to slide a piece of card stock under the cup and flip the cup over (while it was still covered because I wasn’t sure if he could jump out on me and up to this point I had managed the whole capture without much squealing and squeaking and general panic.) Then carried the little darlin’ outside.
But now that he is gone I will admit he totally ooked me out. Especially when he was hiding behind the toilet, looking at me with his little beadie eyes and puffing out his sides….OOOOOOOKKKKYYYYYY!!!!!

Look at you go! We’ll have to start calling you the crocodile hunter.
Glad that you were able to send him back to his natural habitat and Ro Ro didn’t eat him. I’m sure that can’t agree with a little dogs belly!
Hugs!
Yep…that’s me…and I am fairly certain that the lizard would not have been good for her little constitution.

i have lizards all over my house. i love them. (i still sort of scream every time i see one – which is 4 or more times a night) they are bug eaters. and in the tropics, we got bugs!
good thing you caught him before that little dog. imagine the blood… or maybe she’d be neat. as in tidy, not cool.
they are everywhere here. I hope they are of the bug eating variety…one of the reasons I didn’t just squish him or let the doggy get him! And I can only imagine that she would be very tidy and dainty while dispatching him!

I remember when I was in Jamaica they where everywhere. Of course there was no windows in the place that we stayed and that is how they got everywhere. They are ok to look at but not to touch.
Lullibell was very relived that I caught him and put him outside…she likes to watch them but doesn’t want them anywhere close enough to touch! Bubba on the other hand wanted to know why I didn’t run out and buy an aquarium to put him in!

Good work! My toes are afraid for your toes.
Meanwhile – must say – you look so pretty!
My toes were actually more afraid that the little dog would go after him and miss and get my toes instead! And thank you very much Ms R
