This weekend I got to go on a retreat with some friends. We stayed at the Pikes Peak resort. This was the view from the back porch.
The family who owned the resort had opened it in May of 2002. In June that year the Hayman fire swept through the area and burned their resort to the ground. They reopened the following spring.
The devastation is still striking to look at almost 6 years later.

Didn’t want you all to think that we were all business and no play while we were there. This was dessert Saturday night. It’s called Dewed up dumplings and as you can see it was dreadful!!! Seriously though it is apple dumplings stewed in Mt Dew!

Winey,
I just put on five pounds lookingat that desert. Lets hope everyone did some skiing.

I love the snow I just wish it wasn’t quite so windy these days!
The monsters and I are having left over dessert tonight. I hope they enjoy it!
I did use skinny butter and skinny rolls but there is no way to counter-act the amounts of butter and sugar in that recipe!!
